Senior Thesis Course Reflection

This AE senior thesis course has been a valuable learning experience for me. Through Penn State’s AE department, I was able to apply all that I have learned over the past 5 years to an in-depth building redesign project. Through this thesis project, I was able to gain experience that I wouldn’t have been exposed to in the classroom. This project has helped solidify my knowledge of structural engineering so that I can now perform design tasks more quickly and effectively. This thesis project has undoubtedly helped prepare me for a successful professional career as a structural engineer.

CPEP Reflection

Through the use of the Capstone Project Electronic Portfolio (CPEP), I was able to create a web page documenting my process throughout the year and share it with industry professionals, friends and family. The use of Dreamweaver helped familiarize me with basic website design as well which is something not covered in the AE curriculum. This knowledge and skill may prove useful during my career.
